Perspective Rules and Life Obeys
![]() | A familiar saying invites a fresh look at the limits we accept. Greetings and welcome to all new and existing readers of A Conscious Life Hypnotherapy Practice, where therapeutic hypnosis treatments and grounded tools support meaningful change. |
This week’s article, Perspective Rules and Life Obeys, brings a familiar saying into conversation with the extraordinary capacity of life—and the perceptions through which we experience our own possibilities.
Perspective Rules and Life Obeys

This past week, I found myself repeating a familiar adage to a client in her hypnotherapy session: “It ain’t what it looks like, it’s what it is.” Many people are familiar with this long-held saying, but for the uninitiated, it simply means appearances are deceiving.
And much of what appears reflects constraints from our conditioned perceptions of things.
Our perceptions are invisible parameters imposed on the limitless possibility of life.
The Capacity of Life in Motion

And speaking of what it is—a recent science article indicated that NASA gives the solar system’s galactic orbital speed as about 515,000 miles per hour.
Other astronomical estimates place the Sun’s speed at nearly 137 miles per second (that’s per second, folks). Even at that speed, the solar system still requires roughly 230 million years to complete one orbit around the center of the Milky Way.
These stats—and countless other fundamental realities of life—indicate “what it is” regarding the real capacity and power of Life’s nature.
When Perception Defines Reality
Yet we suffer the worries of paying next month’s rent or mortgage, or a life altering health diagnosis. We live daily with the limitations and constrictions we accept as the “facts of our life”—or of life itself.
Though as you read these words you’re being hurled around the Milk Way faster than you can blink your eye.
So, which reality “is,” and which one is the enforcement of perception—what it looks like?
A power operating at unimaginable capacity in the Universe, or the fallibility of illness or lack?
If you don’t reduce this seeming paradox to an interesting juxtaposition—and permit its consideration to requalify your perceptions of your life—you would find yourself at the precipice of healing anything that plagues you.
Don’t take my word for it—just consider the power at play while you munch your popcorn.
Don’t Deny—Requalify

While you’re ruminating about a stalled career or an intimidating diagnosis, redirect that attention toward questioning whether the appearance of something reflects the reality of life or a rigid perception imposed on it.
Don’t deny—requalify.
The assumptions you’ve bought into regarding aging? Don’t deny—requalify.
The possibilities for increased flow of money? Don’t deny—requalify.
Limitations witnessed due to gender, race, or background? Don’t deny—requalify.
Requalify your possibility based on a Capacity that is hurling you through the galaxy, renewing the cells of your body, maintaining planetary orbits at untold speed within an ever-expanding Universe, and keeping a heart beating 24/7.
Surely this capacity can pay rent.
No need to effort, strain, or relent. Just requalify your capacity.
The formidable proof for this is hiding in plain sight.

If you’re ready to explore the perceptions shaping your experience and your sense of possibility, I invite you to schedule a hypnotherapy session.
I encourage you to read this article several times. With each reading, you begin to absorb its deeper implications and recognize their relevance to your own life.
